Hi,

 

chapter 9.3.1 shows that for data length < 1512 bytes and the 32-bit CRC generator polynomial in use (0xF4ACFB13) Pre,cond ≈ 2,33 x 10^-10.

The specifications uses as target value for Pre,cond = 4,0 x 10^-10 instead of Pre,cond ≈ 2,33 x 10^-10. What is the reason for this? Where does the target value Pre,cond = 4,0 x 10^-10 come from?

Since the value 4,0 x 10^-10 is sufficient for the underlying calculations, it is used. Should we for example want to show at a later time the CRC properties for larger messages, we would not have to adapt the formulas.
